On May 28, 2010, at about 10pm, Carman RCMP along with local emergency services and ambulance were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle rollover in the RM of Dufferin.
Investigation revealed that a 2008 Ford truck had been traveling on a gravel road in the RM of Dufferin when it slid off the roadway and rolled over. Road conditions were described as wet and an RCMP traffic analyst attended to assist with the investigation.
A 68-year-old male passenger from the RM of Dufferin was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, a 37-year-old male from Winnipeg was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death. He has been released from custody and is to appear in Carman Court on July 7, 2010
The deceased is reported to be the father of the driver. There were no other passengers, and no other injuries reported.
Alcohol and speed are considered to be factors.
Police continue to investigate.
