Sam Grauer of Steinbach, is announcing his intention to run for the Hanover School Division Board of Trustees – Ward 4.
Sam, a lifelong resident of the Steinbach area, is currently attending the University of Manitoba in the department of Mechanical Engineering. As both a recent high school graduate, and as someone currently attending a post-secondary educational institution Sam has a unique perspective on the issues surrounding educational leadership. He feels that the primary issues now surrounding Hanover are the pressing need for a strong exam policy, maintaining academic standards, upholding parents’ say in their child’s school/teacher, the necessity for increased transparency, and the need for creative solutions to fiscal responsibility.
Sam has built his platform on issues he believes will resonate with Steinbach citizens, and is eagerly looking forward to getting in touch with local residents and hearing what they have to say about our educational system.
Sam has also been involved in local politics for the past few years. Volunteering his time on the Provencher Conservative EDA, Sam serves on the Executive as their Technical Chair. In addition Sam has been involved with the nomination campaign for Amos Wiebe in the Manitoba PC nomination race in La Verendrye, and has served the Youth Parliament of Manitoba in various positions.
