On August 5, 2010, Thompson RCMP received a report of a missing person from Tataskweyak Cree Nation, Manitoba.

Investigation by RCMP throughout August 6 failed to locate the missing man, who had last been seen on August 2 swimming with friends in Split Lake.   
 
On the morning of August 7, TCN Band Constables patrolling by boat located the body of 27-year-old George Tyler Scott Flett of Tataskweyak Cree Nation, in the waters of Split Lake.

Investigation is continuing at this time by Thompson RCMP and cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy is scheduled for August 9 in Winnipeg.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the death.
