On January 30th at around 1:40 AM, the Grand Rapids RCMP received a report of an armed robbery with a firearm at the Pelican Landing Gas Bar on Grand Rapids First Nation.
The investigation revealed that two males entered the gas bar, one of whom was wearing a disguise. The disguised male then produced a sawed off firearm and pointed it at the clerk, threatening her life and demanding money. At this point the clerk complied and the males fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Subsequent investigation identified the disguised male as Allan Wilfred Turner, 18 years, of Grand Rapids Manitoba. Police were later able to locate Turner and he was arrested without incident. Turner is charged with Robbery with a firearm, utter threats, numerous firearms offences and breach of undertaking. The second male was identified as a 13 year old youth from the Grand Rapids, his involvement in this matter is still under investigation.
Turner has been remanded into custody and will appear in The Pas MB Provincial Court February 2nd 2009.
