On November 10, 2010, at about 9pm, Selkirk RCMP as well as local Emergency Services and EMS were dispatched to the scene of a two vehicle fatal motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 8 and Grassmere Road in the RM of West St. Paul, Manitoba.

Initial investigation revealed that a 2000 GMC pick-up truck was southbound on Highway 8 when it collided with a 1996 Ford Taurus that was eastbound on Grassmere Road.

The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 22-year-old man from West St. Paul was deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ford pick-up truck, a 31-year-old man from Winnipeg Beach, was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended the location to assist with the investigation.

There were no other vehicles or persons reported to be involved in this incident.

Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the collision at this time and police continue to investigate.
