On November 25, 2010, at about 3:40pm, Oakbank / Beausejour RCMP were dispatched to a two vehicle fatal head-on collision on PR 302, 3 km north of PTH 15, in the RM of Springfield.
An 80-year-old male driver from Anola was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigation has revealed that the deceased male was traveling southbound in a Dodge Stratus when he collided with a northbound Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by a 19-year-old female, also of Anola. The female was transported to Beausejour hospital and subsequently transferred to Health Sciences Centre in stable condition.
Alcohol is not considered a factor. Poor driving conditions due to the snowfall are considered contributing factors.
