For two days in February, farmers wanting to learn more on how to use global positioning systems (GPS) and geographic information systems (GIS) in their operation are invited to special training sessions in Steinbach.

The purpose of the workshops is to provide training to producers on precision farming, using the modern tools of GPS and GIS systems.

The precision agriculture workshops will deliver a course curriculum to train agricultural producers in the collection, processing and application of information available from precision farming equipment and software.

The workshops are expected to increase the abilities of producers to use precision agriculture technology to better utilize the technology on Manitoba farms.

Two workshops are planned to take place in Steinbach on February 13 and 20 at the Assiniboine Community College Satellite school along Loewen Boulevard starting at 9 am.

More information on precision agriculture workshops is available from any MAFRI GO office.
