God’s Lake Narrows RCMP members collected and delivered an assortment of hockey equipment donated from other inter-agency partners for dissemination to the children in the Community of God’s Lake Narrows.
RCMP were assisted by the D Division RCMP Community Policing Services and the RCMP Air Services.
RCMP members were very pleased to be able to outfit about 70 local children with hockey equipment.
Members of the RCMP God’s Lake Narrows Detachment had been very busy organizing and coordinating the event and spreading the word across the community. The kids were very excited about the equipment coming and anxiously anticipated the event.
On Saturday, December 11, 2010, at the Detachment, RCMP members got busy setting up, with many kids lining up in the cold well before the event could get started.
It was a very busy and exciting day for all, making sure the equipment fit properly for some very anxious children. Thanks to the support of the local Northern Store, a barbeque provided by one of the local Councillors as well as Mr. Darryl Ross, a key volunteer behind the event, deemed “chef extraordinaire” the event was capped off with barbequed hotdogs and drinks.
Overall, there were many smiling faces in the crowd.
