RCMP Leaf Rapids Detachment continue to investigate a fatal residential fire that occurred in the Community of South Indian Lake on December 28, 2010.
To date, one of the two casualties has been positively identified as a 53-year-old resident of South Indian Lake. The second individual has yet to be identified until a post mortem is completed later this week in Winnipeg.
Investigators from the RCMP and Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner have determined that the fire is not considered suspicious. And the fire has been deemed accidental in nature.
Damage estimates are not available but the residence is considered a total loss.
Police continue to investigate.
