On January 1, 2011, at approximately 12:50am, Central Plains RCMP received a report from a local Citizens on Patrol Program member of a possible impaired driver stuck in the ditch in Poplar Point, Manitoba.
Police were advised that two males were in the vehicle.
As police arrived at the location of the suspect vehicle, they found the vehicle to be empty.
On the same date at approximately 1am, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the second block of Main Street in Poplar Point, Manitoba. The homeowner was in the residence and called police when he realized 2 males had entered his residence and were rummaging through the contents.
Police attended the residence and arrested 2 male suspects. Investigation revealed that illegal entry was gained to the residence. Suspects had entered the residence and stole clothing, cigarettes and jewelry. Further investigation also revealed that the suspects were the driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle reported by the COPP as a possible impaired driver.
