The Beautification Committee of the Community Development Corporation of the Town of Ste. Anne encourages the maintenance, the betterment, the beautification of our community environment through projects that bring together the people of the community and develop community pride.
The Pocket park sub-committee, which is a sub-committee of the Beautification Committee, has the mandate to promote and support the development of pocket parks.
What is a pocket park?
It is a green space where one would find beauty – trees, shrubs, flowers, lamppost; rest – a bench, shade, a picnic table; history and pride – a plaque or a monument recognizing an important event or an individual’s, a family’s, an organization’s contribution to the town of Ste. Anne.
In 2008, the Pocket park sub-committee has beautified the front yard of the town of Ste. Anne Hall and has completed phase 1 of the development of the pocket park in the big curve at the western entrance of town. Phase 2 of the project will be completed next summer.
The sub-committee is now looking to develop a pocket park at the corner of Smith Drive and Centrale Avenue in 2009.
Would you like to recognize a family, an individual, an organization or an historical event while beautifying the proposed site? Would you be ready to invest in the development of this pocket park as an individual, a family or an organization?
The Pocket park committee has access to certain funds from Hometown Manitoba and Hydro Manitoba however a contribution from the community is important and necessary to the success of the project.
We are inviting you to participate. You have until February 15th to express your interest.
