On January 24, 2011, at approximately 1am, Selkirk RCMP received a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Shell Convenience Store located on main Street in the City of Selkirk.

A lone suspect entered the store wearing a disguise and armed with a knife. The suspect demanded money and cigarettes from the teller before fleeing on foot.

RCMP located the suspect a short time later in a nearby apartment suite. A quantity of cigarettes were recovered at the suite however the money remains missing.

RCMP have charged 22-year-old Kevin Edward Walker of Selkirk with robbery with a weapon, wearing a disguise and breach of undertaking.

Walker was remanded into custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.

RCMP report that there were no injuries sustained during the robbery.
