On February 28, 2011, at about 11pm, Oakbank RCMP were dispatched to the scene of a two vehicle collision on Highway 15, east of the floodway.
Initial investigation indicates that a 2003 Honda CRV was westbound on Highway 15, when it encountered a snowdrift and rolled onto its side. The Honda was being driven by a 25-year-old man from the RM of Springfield.
The Honda was subsequently struck by a 2004 Lexus, also westbound, being driven by a 27-year-old man from Selkirk, Manitoba.
The driver of the Honda CRV was transported to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
Poor visibility and drifting snow are considered to be factors in this collision.
