On March 16, 2011, at 8:05am, Brandon RCMP as well as the Rivers and Rapid City Fire departments were dispatched to a structure fire at Agromec Industries, situated approximately 6 km east of Rivers, in the RM of Elton.
The fire was first detected by an employee arriving for work at 8am. RCMP report that the fire heavily damaged a tool and agricultural machinery workshop on the property.
No one was injured in the fire and an estimate of the damages in unknown at this time.
Brandon RCMP in conjunction with the Office of the fire commissioner, are continuing to investigate in order to determine the cause of the fire.

Agromec Industries is back to normal work and temporarily located in the Glendale Industries building, 1500 Charles Street, Brandon, MB, while the shop is being rebuilt.
