RCMP have arrested two Virden residents who now face drug related charges in connection with a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant executed last month.
On March 30, 2011, Virden RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant (CDSA) at a residence in Virden, Manitoba. During the execution of this warrant, police seized close to a pound of marijuana, along with a small quantity of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and hashish oil. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of over $5000.
This marks the second CDSA search warrant executed by the Virden RCMP in the last four weeks.
25-year-old Jarrett Lee Gardiner of Virden was arrested and has been charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a weapon/ammunition while prohibited.
19-year-old Michelle Martens of Virden was also arrested and has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Both have been released from custody and are to appear in Virden Provincial Court at a later date.
