On May 4, 2011, at approximately 2:55pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a cyclist who was struck by a vehicle while riding along old Henderson Highway in East Selkirk.
The cyclist was traveling southbound when a vehicle struck the bike from behind causing the cyclist to be ejected off the bike and landing on the embankment of Cooks Creek.
The suspect vehicle which fled the scene is described as a black half-ton pick-up truck.
The 39-year-old cyclist sustained non-life threatening injuries to the head area and was transported to Selkirk Hospital by EMS and later released. The cyclist was also wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
