RCMP are investigating a homicide that occurred at the Milner Ridge Correctional Centre earlier this week.
On May 16, 2011, at about 9:30am, Lac du Bonnet RCMP as well as local EMS were dispatched to the Milner Ridge Correctional Centre in response to a complaint of an unresponsive male inmate.
RCMP report that the man was pronounced deceased at the scene and his death is being investigated as a homicide.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Tyler St. Paul, originally from Lake Manitoba First Nation. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed in Winnipeg.
Lac du Bonnet RCMP as well as RCMP Major Crimes Services continue to investigate.
Milner Ridge Correctional Centre is located in the Agassiz Provincial Forest.
