Two Steinbach youths are facing arson charges in conncection with a fire involving four school buses at Fairway Bus Sales in Steinbach.
On May 5, 2011, the Steinbach RCMP Detachment responded to a fire in which several school buses were burning. The school buses were parked at Fairway Bus Sales located in Steinbach, Manitoba.
The incident was investigated by members of the Steinbach RCMP with help from the Steinbach General Investigation Section (GIS) and in conjunction with the Steinbach Fire Department and the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner.
In total, four school buses were involved in the fire with damages estimated at $70,000.00. Investigation revealed the fires had been intentionally set.
On May 17, 2011, Steinbach RCMP (GIS) apprehended two local 13-year-old female youths who are now facing arson charges in connection to this fire.
They are to appear in Steinbach Provincial court in June, 2011.
The identities of the suspects are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
