On May 22, 2011, just after 6:30am, Roblin RCMP as well as the Shell River Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a fatal house fire on the Valley River FN.
Investigators have discovered what appears to be one set of human remains in the burnt-out structure. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Witnesses report that seven people were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries. At this time there is one adult male unaccounted for.
The home is described as a single family bungalow. It was completely destroyed by the fire.
The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner were at the scene assisting with the investigation. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed and no damage estimate has been provided at this time.
Police continue to investigate.
