On July 21, 2011, at about 8am, Stonewall RCMP members were advised that human remains had been found at a waste disposal site on Road 68N, east of Highway 7 in the RM of Rosser.
RCMP say that the body was observed at the landfill site by staff and police were immediately alerted.
On July 22, an autopsy was conducted in Winnipeg and the remains were identified as 48-year-old Kenneth Alfred Knott of no fixed address, but known to be living in the City of Winnipeg.
No foul play is suspected and the cause of death is not being released.
Investigators believe that the deceased went into a dumpster in Winnipeg and was transported to the landfill. He was known to frequent the Main Street downtown area. He was recently deceased and had not been reported missing.
Stonewall RCMP members, assisted by the RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
