On August 14, 2011, at approximately 1:30am, officers on patrol from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP Detachment noticed a suspicious car in the parking lot on the south side of Thunder’s Restaurant.

RCMP report that the car in question was running and the driver’s door was open. As the officers approached the car, they observed a male run up to the car and get in the driver seat. Seconds later, a second male ran up to the car right after officers heard breaking glass.

The two males were arrested and the investigation showed that a window had been broken out of a nearby apartment just as the officers arrived on scene. The investigation also showed that just before the window was broken, the two males had gotten into a fight with tenants of the apartment building.

Charged with assault, uttering threats, mischief and impaired driving is 19-year-old Harley Geoffrey Sanderson of Cross Lake, Manitoba. Charged with mischief, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose is a 17-year-old male from Cross Lake, Manitoba.

Both of the males have been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Court.
