An Ochre River man has been charged after assaulting his mother this past weekend in Ochre River, Manitoba.

Around 8:30pm on August 20, 2001, RCMP officers from the Grandview and Ethelbert detachments attended a home in Ochre River regarding a report of an assault.

Officers learned that a woman had been assaulted by her son. The officers also determined that the man was on probation and an undertaking with conditions. The intoxicated man was arrested at the house.

24-year-old Desmond Ronald Nepinak of Ochre River, has been charged with assault, breach of probation and breach of undertaking. Nepinak has been remanded in custody to appear in Provincial Court in Dauphin.
