A Flin Flon man has charged after being caught trespassing by night at a local residence last week.
On August 24, 2011, at 11:55pm, The Pas RCMP received a call from a female resident in The Pas advising that there was a suspicious male outside of her residence window.
RCMP members attended to locate the suspicious male who attempted to evade police. A foot chase ensued and police apprehended the male who was attempting to hide in a nearby yard.
RCMP report that the male was brought into custody and found to be in possession of a hand held video camera. A search of the camera resulted in police confirming that the male was attempting to video tape the female occupant of the residence without her knowledge. The male was brought into custody and the resulting investigation resulted in police executing search warrants on the male’s vehicle, which was found nearby the scene, as well as his residence in Flin Flon, Manitoba. The search warrant resulted in police seizing numerous items including video tapes and computers.
The 47-year-old male resident of Flin Flon was released on strict conditions including no contact with the victim and a daily curfew. The man’s name cannot be released at this time as the charge of voyeurism and trespassing by night have not been laid. The man will appear on these charges in the Pas Court in Flin Flon.
The investigation is continuing as all of the items seized must be processed and viewed for content. More charges could be laid depending on the content of the items seized by police.
