A man was assaulted and robbed while walking down 1st Street in Steinbach this past weekend.
On September 4, 2011, just before 10pm, a 24-year-old man was walking east down 1st Street in Steinbach when he was approached by a male individual who, after a short conversation, assaulted the victim and then stole his cellular phone and a pizza.
The suspect fled the scene along with 3 other individuals. He is described as a Caucasian male with blonde or dirty blonde hair, clean shaven, approximately 5’6″ and 5’8″, weighing between 180 and 190 lbs and possibly in his early 20’s.
The victim was taken to hospital, treated and released.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in this matter.
A black sports utility vehicle was in the area at the time of the offence. They may have information that could assist in this investigation.
