A Dauphin man has been charged after police responded to a local break and enter in Dauphin early this morning.

At around 3:30am, on September 19, 2011, Dauphin RCMP responded to a complaint of a man trying to gain access to a residence on Mountain Road in Dauphin. Police officers arrived at the residence to find an intoxicated male at the front entrance trying to gain entry into the home.

RCMP report that 24-year-old Desmond Nelson Thompson of Dauphin has been charged with break and enter into a residence, mischief equal to or under $5,000 and failing to comply with an undertaking. Thompson is to be brought before the Provincial Court of Dauphin to be remanded into custody.
