On October 1, 2011, at about 7am, Selkirk RCMP were dispatched to the scene of an armed robbery.

Initial investigation indicates that a 17-year-old male was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in Selkirk, when he was approached by two males.

One of the men produced a weapon and demanded the man get out of his vehicle. The two suspects then fled in the vehicle leaving the owner unharmed. There were no other persons in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Police say the vehicle was later recovered abandoned in the City of Winnipeg.

The suspects are described as about 18 years of age. One was described as having long black hair in a pony tail and wearing a white sweater. The other had curly black hair and dark clothing.

Further investigation revealed that a similar incident had occurred nearby at about 6am, however, the victim drove off in his vehicle when confronted with the weapon.
