On October 4, 2011, investigators from the RCMP “D” Division Drug Section executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a rural residence in the RM of Gimli, near Camp Morton, Manitoba.
Investigators discovered a significant indoor marijuana grow op in the residence. RCMP report that over 2,000 marijuana plants were seized during the search.
Police say that the estimated street value of the seizure is approximately $2,000,000.
Two adult males, both from British Columbia, were arrested at the scene and remain in custody. They are facing a number of charges including production of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Manitoba East District Green Team and RCMP Winnipeg Integrated Proceeds of Crime Section played an integral part in this seizure.
Police continue to investigate.
