RCMP have recovered a quantity of property, including recently stolen electronics, after pulling a vehicle over with “out of province” plates in Dauphin.
On Monday, November 14, 2011, around 3pm, officers on patrol from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP observed a vehicle in the south end of Dauphin with “out of Province” licence plates. A check on the plates showed they belonged on a vehicle that had been reported as stolen in British Columbia. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle.
Investigators determined that on September 19, 2011, a woman in Fort St. John, British Columbia, reported that her boyfriend had stolen her vehicle and a number of other personal items. He had since sold that vehicle and acquired 2 new vehicles under false pretense, including the one he was driving at the time he was arrested in Dauphin. Investigators have recovered a quantity of property including recently stolen electronics from Dauphin.
Nathan Ronald Lee Raymond, of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of stolen property, theft and fraud, and has been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on November 21, 2011.
The investigation continues.
