RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a recent theft incident in the RM of Portage la Prairie.
On Saturday, January 7, 2012 just before 5pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a theft at the Days Inn in the RM of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Investigation revealed that a lone male entered the hotel asking for directions. The male then left the premise but returned when the clerk had momentarily left her desk. He was caught on video surveillance going behind the desk and removing the cash drawer with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing eastbound on Highway 1 in a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
The suspect is described as being Caucasian male in appearance, in his early to mid 30’s, approximately 5’7″ to 5’9 with a medium build. He had short, dark, wavy hair and was wearing a baseball hat and a bluish grey winter parka with a silver/grey stripe on the back.
Central Plains RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect from the photo of him in the hotel.
Portage la Prairie RCMP continue to investigate.
