On January 19, 2012, at about 4am, Thompson RCMP were dispatched to the scene of an assault with a weapon that occurred at an apartment building in the City of Thompson.
Initial investigation indicates a 38-year-old male had been assaulted with a weapon during the night. He was subsequently transported to hospital in Winnipeg with serious injuries.
An 18-year-old woman has been arrested and remains in custody and is facing a number of charges including aggravated assault.
Police continue to investigate.
