On February 4, 2012, at about 8:30pm, Moose lake RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal pedestrian/motor vehicle collision on PR 384, approximately 1 km west of Moose Lake.
Initial investigation indicates that a 2011 Ford pick-up was westbound when it collided with a pedestrian.
The driver of the pick-up-truck, a 54 year old man from Moose Lake, was not injured. The pedestrian, a 19-year-old man from Easterville, Manitoba, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name will not be released.
An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation.
Police say that road conditions were reported to be extremely slippery at the time of the collision. There is no indication of speed or alcohol being involved in this collision. At this time, charges are not expected.
Police continue to investigate.
