On February 11, 2012, shortly before 5am, Selkirk RCMP Detachment, local Fire and EMS were dispatched to a residential fire on Bermuda Bay in the City of Selkirk.
RCMP report that one male escaped the fire and sought help. Police also say that though the fire was quickly contained by the Fire Department, four males from the residence have been confirmed as deceased.
The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner were on scene to assist with the investigation and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The damage to the residence (trailer) is considered extensive and estimates are not currently available.
The male who escaped the fire has been taken to hospital for medical attention. His injuries are not considered life threatening. No other premises were damaged by the fire.
Autopsies will be performed in Winnipeg in the near future as the investigation continues.

RCMP confirm that of the four men that perished in the fire two were residents of the premise. The residents were 42 and 39-years-old. The other two men who were 18 and 37-year-old Selkirk area residents. Of note, the 18-year-old is the son of the 42-year-old who also perished. The 19-year-old man that escaped the fire was also visiting the residence and is from the Selkirk area as well.
