The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, and James Bezan, Member of Parliament for Selkirk-Interlake, commended the efforts of the RCMP and the Ste. Anne Police Department, for the successful seizure of over 3,300 marijuana plants at 10 grow operations across Manitoba.
“I want to commend the RCMP and Ste. Anne Police Department for halting these grow operations. The RCMP’s Marijuana Grow Initiative is making a real difference by tackling marijuana production operations in Canada that are being run and exploited by organized crime groups,” said Minister Toews.
“Marijuana grow operations fuel organized crime, threatening the safety of our citizens and security of our communities,” said Mr. Bezan. “Through cooperation and diligent policing, the RCMP and its partners are making the streets of Manitoba a safer place.”
