RCMP Norway House Detachment have charged three individuals in connection with a shooting incident on the Norway House Cree Nation that occurred this past January.
On January 7, 2012, A 23-year-old man and his 3-year-old son were both shot in the lower body at a residence on the Norway House Cree Nation.
RCMP have now laid charges in this incident. 22-year-old Allan Gordon Cromarty has been charged with the shooting incident. Cromarty faces a number of charges including two counts of aggravated assault, disguised while committing an indictable offence, two counts of discharging with intent to endanger life and several additional firearms related offences. 28-year-old Rachel Lynn Rowden and 18-year-old Evan Matthew Cromarty, brother of Allan Cromarty, have also been charged for various conspiracy related and firearms offences.
The trio, all residents of Norway House, have been held in custody pending court appearances in Thompson in the coming days. To date, the investigation has revealed that the victims in this incident were not the intended targets. Another individual was over some alleged past wrong.
