RCMP have arrested a Cross Lake youth in connection with numerous firearms incidents that occurred this past week.
On April 10, 2012, shortly after 1am, RCMP Cross Lake Detachment responded to reports of a disturbance and shots fired outside and at a residence in the Saggitawak area of Cross Lake FN.
During the course of the investigation and immediate patrols of the area, RCMP learned that the suspect had also pointed a firearm at two local residents.
Shortly before 4am, a 17-year-old teenage male from Cross Lake was located and arrested in connection with the first report and subsequent incidents. He is currently facing charges of discharging a firearm with intent, careless use of a firearm, possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes, two counts of pointing a firearm as well as several counts of failing to comply to the conditions of an undertaking as well as conditions of a probation order.
The youth remains in custody pending a court appearance in Thompson. Under the Youth Justice Criminal Act, his name will not be released.
