The Steinbach Arts Council invites you to attend “An Evening of Sacred Song” on Sunday, April 29th at 7:00pm at the Grace Mennonite Church in Steinbach.
Together with Robert Neufeld, piano, and Millie Hildebrand directing Steinbach’s Vespers choir, David Klassen brings his versatility to the stage once again with an evening of uplifting choral works and favorite songs and spirituals.
Well known in Southeastern Manitoba for his versatility as a classical singer and noted for his “rich baritone” (Minneapolis Star Tribune), David Klassen returns with pianist Robert Neufeld to the Steinbach concert stage with “an evening of Sacred Song”.
Having sung for companies such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Brandon Chamber Players, Saskatoon Opera among others, David continues to emerge as a classical musician in Canada. Bringing his passion for sacred music back to his home city of Steinbach, his upcoming concert includes favorites like “The Holy City”, “The Lord’s Prayer”, “Deep River” and several other well known songs of the sacred repertoire.
Along with his passion for church music, David Klassen is also committed to working on a community level, partnering with local organizations whenever possible. As a result, his concert includes several selections with Eastman Choral Association’s Vespers Choir, under the direction of Millie Hildebrand.
“God has gifted each one of us with a portion of musical ability. David Klassen was gifted a double portion…I get to hear Canada’s best, and (he) is one of Canada’s best.” ~ Frances Funk, Federation of Canadian Music Festivals
