There have been a number of house fires in the community of God’s Lake Narrows in recent months and investigation has revealed the cause of a number of these fires to be arson.

RCMP investigators have made arrests in three of these cases, and continue to work on a number of other fire that have been deemed suspicious in nature.

On September 12, 2011, a home was destroyed by fire. A 17-year-old male has been charged with arson and the case is now before the courts.

On November 5, 2011, a home was totally destroyed by fire. A 21-year-old male has been charged with arson, and the case is before the courts.

On May 2, 2012, at about 9:30pm, God’s Lake Narrows RCMP were dispatched to the scene of a residential fire in the community. Upon arrival, police found the home fully engulfed in flames. It was a complete loss.

Subsequent investigation has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man from the community. He is facing charges of Arson and is scheduled to appear in Thompson Provincial Court on May 7th, 2012.

There were no injuries reported as a result of these fires, however, house fires have been proven to be fatal in the past.
