Earlier last week, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a suspicious male on 1st Street NW in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
RCMP report that at approximately 9:30am on May 14, 2012, a 22-year-old female was approached by an unknown male in a vehicle while she was walking along 1st Street NW near the Provincial Building in Portage la Prairie. The vehicle approached the woman and the male driver offered to give her a ride. When she ignored him and continued to walk, the driver stopped his vehicle, opened the door, held her wrist and attempted to get her into the vehicle. The female was able to free herself from his grasp and ran away before anything further occurred. The suspect drove off heading north on 1st Street NW and then turned west onto Lorne Avenue.
The vehicle is described as a beige coloured, 4 door van with a black stripe on the side.
The male is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 50 years of age with a short white-blonde hair, a moustache, blue eyes, skinny in appearance and wearing a silver stud earring in his left ear. He was wearing jeans and a black jacket with red stripes on the sleeves.
