The Honourable Vic Toews, MP for Provencher, on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, announced Celebrate Canada funding totalling $23,960 for nine communities in the federal riding of Provencher.
“Celebrate Canada festivities have become a wonderful tradition,” said MP Toews. “Over the course of 11 days, these celebrations give all Canadians a special opportunity to gather with family, friends and neighbours to celebrate our great country.”
Celebrate Canada funding was announced for the communities of Emerson, St. Malo, South Junction, Lac du Bonnet, Pinawa, Morris, Dugald, Steinbach and Ste. Anne.
In 2012, the Government of Canada will invest in approximately 1,750 Celebrate Canada projects and activities across the country. The program celebrates National Aboriginal Day, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, Canadian Multiculturalism Day, and Canada Day.
“I encourage everyone to take part in these celebrations as either volunteers or participants,” added Toews. “We truly have so much to celebrate!”
