Shortly after 7am on June 9, 2012, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP detachment received a complaint of an impaired driver.
Police say that a vehicle had been seen swerving through the parking lots of some restaurants in the south end of Dauphin. Officers located the vehicle moments later on Main Street in the north end of the city. The driver showed signs of being impaired and was arrested. Breath tests were conducted and showed his blood alcohol concentration to be more than twice the legal limit.
25-year-old Curtis John Wiebe of Sherwood Park, Alberta, has been charged with impaired driving and has been remanded in custody to appear in Provincial Court in Dauphin.
