A 27 year old Duck Bay, Manitoba resident has been arrested for assaulting his common-law wife.
The Dauphin RCMP were called to a Dauphin apartment building early Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2009, by a lady stating she had been assaulted by the man while they were going to visit relatives.
The man remains under guard in the Dauphin Hospital as he had ingested a quantity of pills prior to his arrest.
Charges have not yet been laid and the investigation continues.

Dale Gerriat Genaille was released from hospital last evening and was then charged with 2 counts of assault and a number of related criminal charges. Genaille has been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin court on March 31, 2009.
