On July 31, 2012, at about 11am, Nelson House RCMP as well Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship were dispatched to the scene of a body, located in Footprint Lake near the community of Nisichawayasihk FN Reserve.
The deceased has been identified as a 29-year-old man from the Nisichawayasihk FN Reserve.
The deceased male was reported missing to the RCMP on July 30, 2012 and had not been seen since July 27, 2012.
RCMP Nelson House assisted by numerous community members of the Nisichawayasihk FN Reserve had searched on foot going door to door, on ATV through trails and on water by boat in a bid to locate the missing man.
An autopsy has been ordered, however, there is no indication of foul play at this time.
RCMP Nelson House continues to investigate the whereabouts of the 29-year-old male before he was found deceased.
