RCMP have charged two individuals in relation to an assault incident that occurred earlier this month in the town of Swan River.
During the early morning hours of August 11, 2012, Swan River RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the town of Swan River. RCMP learned that a 36-year-old local man was seriously assaulted.
On August 14, RCMP charged 47-year-old Marvin David Flett of Swan River with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and obstructing justice. Flett has been released on a recognizance to appear in Swan River Provincial court on October 17, 2012.
Police say that a 17-year-old local male youth was also charged in this incident. The youth is facing charges of assault and breach of a recognizance. He has been released on a undertaking to appear in Swan River Court on October 17, 2012.
The victim received medical treatment and has since been released from hospital.
The investigation continues.
