On September 14, 2012, just after 4:30pm, Little Grand rapids RCMP were dispatched to a report of a boating fatality at Family Lake.
Investigation revealed that a 32-year-old woman had been in a boat, being operated by a 42-year-old man, when she fell overboard and was run over by the boat. The driver and passenger are both from Pauingassi First Nation.
Police say that the woman was located at the scene deceased.
The 42-year-old man is facing a number of charges, including charges of impaired operation of a boat causing death. He remains in police custody.
Police continue to investigate.
