On September 20, 2012, just after 11am, Fisher Branch RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a two vehicle collision on Highway 17, about 3 miles south of Fisher Branch.
Witness reports indicate a semi hauling an empty flat-bed trailer was traveling north on Highway 17. The semi had slowed to turn, when it was struck from behind by a northbound 2006 Chevrolet pick-up truck. The pick-up truck rolled over at least once before coming to a stop in the ditch.
RCMP report that the driver of the semi, a 35-year-old man from the RM of Fisher, was not injured. The driver of the pick-up truck, a 93-year-old man from Chatfield, was transported to hospital with serious, undetermined injuries.
There were no other vehicles or persons involved. An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the ongoing investigation.
