A man from the RM of Miniota has been charged with several firearms related offences after being arrested by police earlier this week.
On September 24, 2012, at about 5:30pm, Shoal Lake RCMP were dispatched to a report of an impaired driver involved in a vehicle crash. Police say that the driver was allegedly involved in some sort of dispute where threats to kill were made and gun shots were heard.
Shoal Lake RCMP officers attended a farmyard in the RM of Miniota. Investigation confirmed early reports. A number of firearms were seized from the residence along with ammunition.
RCMP report that 52-year-old Ronald Chartier of the RM of Miniota was located, arrested and taken into police custody. He has since been charged with several firearms related offences, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and mischief under $5,000.
