On October 22, 2012, Gypsumville RCMP, working in conjunction with Canada Post Security and Investigation Services, executed a search warrant at a residence in Gypsumville, Manitoba.
Police say that the investigation was in relation to thefts from mail along a delivery route on Highway 6 between Winnipeg and Gypsumville.
A search of the residence revealed a number of items, primarily electronic goods, which had been stolen from the mail.
RCMP report that a 24-year-old man from Winnipeg, a Canada Post mail delivery contract employee, was arrested at the location.
The suspect is facing charges of theft from mail, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of proceeds of crime. He has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in St. Martin Provincial Court on December 12, 2012.
Police continue to investigate.
