The Manitoba Rural Adaptation Council (MRAC) recently raffled off a 50 inch Panasonic high definition plasma television with all proceeds going to the Manitoba Farm and Rural Stress Line (MFRSL).
Approximately 500 tickets were sold at $2 each during the months of February and March, including at our Annual General Meeting on March 19 in Brandon and at the Discover Agriculture in the City event from March 20 to 22 at the Forks Market in Winnipeg. The draw took place on Friday, April 3 with Kim Beilby of Brandon, Man. winning the TV. On Monday, April 6 Ted Eastley, MRAC executive director, presented Janet Smith, MFRSL manager, with a $1,000 cheque. The TV was given to MRAC by Panasonic Canada when the council renewed the contract on its Panasonic photocopier.
“I see this as an opportunity for MRAC to give back to the agricultural community,” said Ted Eastley, MRAC executive director.
“On behalf of the Manitoba Farm and Rural Stress Line I want to thank MRAC for their generous donation of $1,000 that will go towards books and videos for a farm and rural resource centre to be located in our office in Brandon,” said Janet Smith, MFRSL manager.
