Three Portage la Prairie men are facing drug related charges after being arrested by police earlier this month.
On Friday, November 2, 2012, just after 5pm, Portage la Prairie General Investigation Section, Portage la Prairie RCMP and Portage la Prairie Police Dog Service executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a residence in the first block of 18th Street NW in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Police say that an undisclosed amount of controlled substances and cash were located and seized from the residence. Police also located and seized paraphernalia consistent with trafficking controlled substances.
Charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and possession of proceeds of crime are 34-year-old Barry Cote, 35-year-old Cory Johnson and 28-year-old Crystal Henry, all of Portage la Prairie. Barry Cote has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance and failing to comply with a probation order. They have all been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on December 3, 2012.
