RCMP D Division is distributing more than 5,000 toys collected by the Toys for the North project, a partnership between the RCMP, Toronto Santa Claus Parade and the Canadian Toy Association.
This will be the third year the RCMP has distributed toys that are collected during the annual Toronto Santa Claus Parade, as well as toys donated by toy manufacturers.
This year, RCMP D Division received toys shipped from Toronto to Winnipeg courtesy of the Royal Canadian Air Force, 2 Air Movements Squadron. The toys will now be distributed by RCMP detachments throughout Manitoba.
The RCMP are committed to making a positive contribution in the communities in which our members live and work. During the holidays, our officers are happy to be able to bring some extra joy to children in their communities and are grateful to the people of Toronto for their generosity in providing these toys for boys and girls in Manitoba.
